Since President Xi Jinping announced carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals at United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in Sept. 22,2020,global process to address climate change aiming at carbon neutrality has made new progress. In this report,latest climate change facts and extreme weather and climate events are reviewed. Key messages are drew from Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) The Sixth Assessment Report (AR6). Based on a comprehensive analysis on economy transition pathways and policies development under carbon neutrality goal from global and national perspectives,some suggestions are raised to enhance global climate governance and promote international cooperation on carbon neutrality.
