The Global Stocktake（GST）is of great importance to ensuring continuing efforts in addressing climate change and is the key element of ambition mechanism set up by the Paris Agreement to solve the gap between the purpose and long term goals of the Agreement and the overall efforts of parties. This paper summarizes the existing negotiation progress and outcomes in related to the GST，identified the key issues need to further addressed and make some recommendations for the future negotiations.
