2015年6月,中国和澳大利亚签署双边自由贸易协定,这是两国合作的里程碑事件,对双边关系和各领域合作具有非常重要的指导意义。教育合作是中澳双边关系的有机组成部分,基于翔实的文献研究和笔者近年来对澳大利亚教育体制的亲身经历,本文详细分析了近年来特别是中澳自贸协定签署以来两国教育交流合作的成果与特点、机遇和挑战,并提供了建议。文章认为,一方面,双边自贸协定对中澳教育合作发挥了显著的推动作用,两国教育合作各个方面的成果斐然。中国稳居澳第一大教育出口市场,澳来华留学生数量也快速增长,澳“新科伦坡计划”已成为中澳教育合作的新亮点。另一方面,中澳教育合作也面临一些挑战,需要谨慎应对,以充分发挥两国教育合作的潜力。
China and Australia entered into the free trade agreement in June 2015.This milestone event is of great significance for their bilateral relations and all-round cooperation including in the education sector.Building upon solid literature review and the two authors' personal experience of Australia's educational system,the research conducts an in-depth analysis of features,opportunities and challenges of China-Australia education cooperation especially since the comme-ncement of their bilateral free trade agreement.Brief policy recommendations are also provided.The paper argues that the free trade agreement has become a driving force behind the two countries' fruitful cooperation in education.China has remained Australia's largest market of education export.The number of Australian students studying in China is also growing rapidly under the New Colombo Plan,which becomes a new area of education cooperation.On the other hand,however,challenges emerge in China-Australia education cooperation and need to be addressed to unleash the potential.
