The people of China and the Philippines have a long history of friendly exchanges，and the development of bilateral relations has a solid foundation. After Philippine President Dutter came to power in 2016，he adopted a pragmatic foreign policy to eliminate the erroneous foreign policy of former Philippine President Aquino III who unite the United States to resist China，and strive to develop Sino-Philippine friendly relations. Great changes have taken place in Sino-Philippine relations：strategic mutual trust has been made by steady progress，economic and trade investment has increased substantially，and cultural exchanges are in the ascendant. China’s peaceful rise and all-round development will benefit all countries in Southeast Asia，including the Philippines.
