The British film industry performed better in 2018 and 2019 than in 2017. In 2018，UK box office，cinema admission，box office share of UK films （46.1%） all broke record；UK films’ global box office share were second highest in the 21st century. The Top 20 Films continued to be dominated by Hollywood movies as well as UK-US co-productions. Box office share of independent films rose from 9.6% in 2017 to 13.2% in 2018 and 14.6% in 2019. The 2018-2019 total UK production expenditure remained at high point. British film talents won 14% of key international awards in 2018. Avengers：Endgame，Mamma Mia！Here We Go Again and Bohemian Rhapsody became box office hits；Darkest Hour，Bohemian Rhapsody，The Favourite were honored with artistic awards.
