2018年7月～2019年6月，梅政府继续致力于践行“全球英国”理念，并且取得了一些进展，但其外交成绩单依然难以与“全球英国”愿景相匹配。总体而言，过去一年来梅政府的外交政策虽然并未因脱欧困境而进行战略收缩，英国外交依然具有全球视野，但在实践中并未比脱欧公投之前更具全球性，其外交重心仍然在跨大西洋地区。脱欧派对脱欧后英国重振大国雄风的美好畅想已被证明过于乐观。
From July 2018 to June 2019，the May government continued to implement the concept of “Global Britain”，but its diplomatic achievements remained difficult to match the vision of “Global Britain”. On the whole，the foreign policy of the May government managed to keep its global outlook without suffering shrinkage in terms of diplomatic footprint over the past year. Nonetheless，British foreign policy had not become more global in practice than before Brexit referendum. The May government still paid heavy attention to the trans-Atlantic area. Brexiteers have turned out to be overoptimistic and naïve about Britain’s prospect of reemerging as a glorious big power on the world stage after Brexit. Though the May government has made some progress towards “Global Britain”，there remains a gap between the vision and the reality.
