作为一个重要政治中心，承德在清代历史上有着举足轻重的地位。本文作者认为，承德史的研究应当在充分利用汉、满、蒙、藏等语言史料的基础之上，同时运用近代以来世界语境下对承德历史、人文的记载和研究成就，用这些外在观察的记录来补充内部史料的不足，只有这样才能呈现承德在清帝国中多面、立体、丰满的历史面貌。本文提出用一种中心—边缘的研究视角，在广阔的相互关系情境中来考察参与清代历史建构的几方之间的互动关系，并确定承德在其中所扮演的角色。
As an important political center，Chengde/Jehol played a vital role in the history of Qing Dynasty.This paper suggests that the study of Chengde's history should not only make full use of the historical material recorded in Chinese，Manchu，Mongolian，Tibetan languages，but it should also exploit the accounts and research findings of Chengde's historical and cultural activities in the global context since the beginning of the modern time.The latter resources，as reports of outer observations，can in certain aspects make up for the insufficiency of the inner records.Only in this way can a diversified，solid and full image of Chengde in the map of Qing Empire become possible.This paper provides a comparative center-periphery perspective，in which the interactive relations of the relevant powers in the construction of the history of Qing dynasty are explored in a wide correlative context，so that the role of Chengde can be more precisely located.
