With the steady advancement of the national central city construction of Zhengzhou，a number of national strategies that support the development of this city have begun to show superimposed effects，including the established Central Plains city cluster，the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone，the Zheng-Luo-Xin National Innovation Demonstration Area，and the Zhengzhou Free Trade Zone. Zhengzhou plays an increasingly important role in the overall development of the country. This paper analyzes the history，advantages and foundation，problems and challenges of the national central city construction of Zhengzhou. Suggestions and future priorities are put forward based on the positioning of Zhengzhou in the national central city construction.
