The separatist trend of the English-speaking region of Cameroon have been existing for a long time，the recent crisis has the potential to develop into an armed conflict. The direct causes of the crisis are the issue of educational equity，discrimination，religious and ethnic conflicts，and the weak ability of governance are all profound reasons. The crisis has had a major impact on Cameroon’s political stability，economic growth and national security，but it will not develop into a civil war. The crisis in the English-speaking region of Cameroon is a microcosm of the issue of peace and security in Africa and has implications for many countries in Africa.
