过去20年来，随着亚太经济崛起成为全球经济增长的中心，亚太地区的城市化快速发展，不仅形成了规模庞大的城市体系，在全球城市网络中的地位也不断提升，而且出现了跨国城市走廊及特大城市区域等多样化的新型城市形态。但是，亚太地区城市化分布较为分散和不均衡，同时城市的无序扩张和低密度发展也给城市的包容性和可持续发展及城市治理带来了诸多挑战与问题。未来，亚太地区的城市化需要转变过去那种无序蔓延、低密度、高成本的发展模式，充分利用其人口红利和经济转型，推动更具包容性的城市繁荣与创新。
Over the past 20 years，with the rise of the Asia-Pacific economy as the center of global economic growth，the rapid urbanization of the Asia-Pacific region has not only formed a large-scale urban system，but also continued to increase its status in the global urban network.Furthermore，there have appeared transnational urban corridors and mega-urban areas and other diversified new urban forms in the area.However，urbanization in Asia and the Pacific is scattered and uneven，while urban sprawl and low density development have brought many challenges and problems to the inclusive and sustainable development of cities and urban governance.In the future，urbanization in the Asia-Pacific region will require a shift away from the chaotic，low-density and high-cost development model of the past，taking full advantage of its demographic dividend and economic transformation，and promoting more inclusive urban prosperity and innovation.
