在世界各国的华侨华人群体中，泰国华侨华人是一个比较特殊的群体，他们在居住国的社会地位较高，对居住国的认同感较强，与居住国其他族群的融合程度较深，彼此关系也更为和谐。长期以来，随着中泰两国国内政治经济形势的变化以及国家间关系的发展，特别是在中国实行改革开放，经济获得高速发展以及中泰在政治、经济、文化等各方面的联系日益深化的大背景下，泰国华人华侨界也出现了许多新现象，得到新发展。其中最明显的特点是：其一，泰国华社，尤其是新生代华人与中国的联系进一步增多；其二，改革开放以来大量移居泰国的中国新移民成为泰国华社的新群体，其存在感和影响力逐渐加强。
Among the overseas Chinese groups in the world，The overseas Chinese communities in Thailand have their specific characteristics. They have a higher social status in the country，a stronger sense of identity to the country of residence，and a deeper degree of integration and harmonious relationship with other ethnic groups in the country. With the evolution of China and Thailand’s domestic political and economic situation and strengthening of bilateral relations between two countries，especially in the context of the reform and opening up policies adopted by Chinese government and the rapid development of economy in China，in addition to the deepening of Sino-Thai relations in politics，economy and culture，there are some new phenomena happened in the Chinese overseas community of Thailand. Some new features have arisen and new development has made in the overseas Chinese communities of the country. The most obvious characteristics are：firstly，the overseas Chinese in Thailand，especially the new generation enhanced further their relations with China；Secondly，since the reform and opening up of China，a large number of new immigrants from China to Thailand have become the newest groups of Thai overseas Chinese communities，and their sense of existence and influence have been strengthened gradually in the country.
