China is Indonesia’s largest trading partner and the second largest source of foreign investments. For a long time，the issue of land rights has been a tough problem hindering Chinese companies’ investment in Indonesia. Based on the analysis on the institutional evolution of Indonesian land law and management，this report analyzes the current characteristics and risks of Indonesian land rights，including the overlapping of ownership sources，diverse basis for determining the land rights，and inefficient multi-headed management and judicial protection.
