This paper aims to discuss the official exchange between Vietnam and Japan in the 17^th century by written forms，exploring the influence of chua Nguyen's rules upon Japanese business，the exchange activities between chua Trinh and Japan，and the discussion of the drifting affair in the written communication. The paper concludes that the official exchange between Vietnam and Japan in the 17^th century involves multiple aspects of politics，economy and Confucianism.
