With longstanding close political，economic，social and cultural ties，China and Australia have positioned each other as comprehensive strategic partners. In recent decades government and people-to-people exchanges and communications between the two countries have been developing proactively，with a foreseeable positive growth in the near future. However，in recent years，in particular since Donald Trump took office of the US presidency in 2017，there has been a negative force at play in Australia against China，against business people of Chinese ethnicity，and even against those very young Chinese students studying in Australia. This force started in some Australian media，and has now resonated among some senior government officials，with a potential to develop even worse. Such voices determine friends or enemies in accordance with the differences in political systems and ideologies，and can be attributed to the revival of the outdated Cold War mindset. China advocates the development of the world into a community of humanity with shared destiny. With this idea as guideline，both China and Australia need to concertedly work in conjunction to eliminate differences，promote communication and achieve harmony as a way to start a beautiful new page of the China-Australia relations.
