Najib Mahfudz is a well-known writer in the world who won the 1988 Nobel Prize for Literature. This paper takes his short story Accident as target text，analyzing the reaction of the spectators to the accident，aiming to reveal the social issues existed in Eygpt and the profound thoughts contained in the text，so as to provoke the reader’s thinking over death，existence，religion and life.
