近年来，辽源市在环保、资源转型发展、新型城镇化建设方面都着力进行了诸多改革与创新尝试。但由于国内外宏观经济形势趋紧、生态环境保护需求迫切、文化发展多样性等多方面因素影响，辽源市综合经济竞争力排名有了一定波动，可持续竞争力也有较大的上升空间，宜居竞争力有了较大幅度的提升，是辽源市表现最为突出的城市竞争力指标。辽源市在关乎民生社稷方面攻坚克难，进行了卓有成效的改革与实践。“十三五”发展阶段，辽源市应该以知识城市竞争力与信息城市竞争力、文化城市竞争力与全域城市竞争力为突破口，加速可持续竞争力的全面提升。
In recent years，Liaoyuan City has made great efforts to reform and innovate in environmental protection，resource transformation and new urbanization.However，due to the tightening of macro economic situation at home and abroad，the need for ecological environment protection and the diversity of cultural development，the economic comprehensive competitiveness of liaoyuan city has fluctuated.Sustainable competitiveness also needs to be improved.There has been a substantial improvement in livable competitiveness.It is the most outstanding index of urban competitiveness in Liaoyuan city.The city of Liaoyuan has carried out effective reform and practice in tackling the difficulties of the people's livelihood.The “13th five-year” development stage of the future，Liaoyuan city should make a breakthrough in the competitiveness of knowledge and information city，culture and global city，and accelerate the comprehensive promotion of sustainable competitiveness.
