2017年以来，在以习近平同志为核心的党中央坚强领导下，中国证券业监督管理工作以新时代中国特色社会主义思想为根本指引，以迎接十九大、学习十九大精神为全年工作主线，紧紧围绕全国金融工作会议确定的服务实体经济、防控金融风险、深化金融改革的三大任务，抓重点、补短板，全面系统开展证券行业各项监管，积极支持国家经济社会重大战略，不断深化资本市场改革开放，持续强化依法全面从严监管，守住不发生系统性风险的底线，各项监管工作均取得了一定程度的新进展、新成效，逐步形成了融资功能完备、基础制度扎实、市场监管有效、投资者权益有效保护的多层次资本市场体系。
