从中蒙俄经济走廊的视角看，围绕着跨三国的阿尔泰山构建“环阿尔泰山次区域经济圈”是极具发展眼光和现实基础的设想。所谓“环阿尔泰山次区域经济圈”是以阿尔泰山区域为核心，由中国阿勒泰地区、俄罗斯西西伯利亚地区、哈萨克斯坦东部和蒙古国西部组成的经济圈，该区域在生态、资源方面具有相似性，在人文和经济发展等方面则具有差异性与互补性，“环阿尔泰山次区域经济圈”的构建有助于各区域之间的分工合作以及贸易往来，从而达到互惠互利、共同发展，可以具体落实中蒙俄经济走廊的规划。
From the perspective of China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor，the around-Altay sub-regional economic circle is a visionary concept with realistic bases. Comprising China Altai region，Russia’s Western Siberia，Eastern Kazakhstan and Western Mogolia，the around-Altay sub-regional economic circle is characterized by similarity in terms of ecology and resources along with difference and complementariness in terms of human-cultural features and economic development. The around-Altay sub-regional economic circle is good for the division of labor，cooperation and communication between countries，so as to boost mutual benefit and common development in putting in place the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor.
