本文运用主成分分析法对长江中游城市群中各城市经济实力进行量化分析，通过横向和纵向对比分析城市群演化规律和特征；使用面板模型分析方法，对面板数据进行回归分析，运用长江中游城市群2005～2015年各项经济指标数据建立回归模型，模型从经济基础、产业结构、开放程度、政府金融环境和科技教育投入五个方面分析其各自对综合经济实力的影响情况。
The cities’ economic power has been quantified by using principal component analysis in Changjiang Middle Reaches Megalopolis，it analyzes the evolution rules and characteristics of urban agglomerationthrough transverse and lengthways contrast；using the panel model analysis method and regression analysis of panel data. Set up a regression model based on various economic indicators of 2005-2015 in Changjiang Middle Reaches Megalopolis，the model analyzes the impact on the economic power from the economic base，industrial sructure，openness，financial enviroment and the input of technology education.
