This paper analyzes the development status quo of new energy vehicles in China and discusses the current situation，characteristics and types of new energy vehicles’ technological innovation and business model innovation. Then，the interaction between these two is analyzed from the coupling perspective. Also，this paper puts forward the “trigger-drive” innovative coupling framework in the new energy vehicles industry and describes two innovative initiatives of the manufacturing’s service orientation and ecosystems.
