区域协调发展的新格局具有“以人为本”“均衡有序”“集约高效”“创新驱动”“绿色环保”等发展特征。对于现阶段的江苏而言，构筑此新格局具有重要的现实意义。为此，江苏需要以基础设施建设增强区域有机联系；以新型城镇化推进城乡一体化进程；以产业有序转移平衡区域生产力布局；以均等化公共服务缩小地区福利差距；提升苏南引领型发展的能力；加快苏中融合式发展的步伐；探索苏北绿色生态发展模式；积极谋划沿宁杭线发展轴线。同时，强化区域发展规划的指导作用；健全区域经济合作组织与制度；探索构建跨区域资金供给机制；提高区域政策供给的精准性，以便为区域协调发展提供强有力的政策保障。
The new pattern of regional coordinated development has such characteristics as “people first”，“balanced and orderly”，“intensive and efficient”，“Innovation-driven” and “green ecology”. At present，the construction of this new pattern has important realistic meaning for Jiangsu. So Jiangsu needs to enhance regional organic ties by infrastructure，to advance the urban-rural integration new urbanization，to balance the regional productivity layout with orderly transfer of industry，to narrow regional disparities in welfare by equalization of public services. At the same time，Jiangsu strengthen the guiding role of regional development planning，improve the regional economic cooperation organizations and institutions，explore the mechanism of cross regional capital supply in order to implroe the accuracy of regional policy supply.
