The complexity of current African security situation is unprecedented. Although the number of election conflicts，coups and terrorism casualties is declined，the basic causes of instabilities are not solved，while new security risks with new conflict models are emerging. Against the background of complicated African security situation and the aid reductions from the Western countries，mechanism building of African Capacity for Immediate Response and Security self-funding are the main tasks for African security. Meanwhile，with the fast pace of Sino-African security cooperation，China’s position in African peace and security is in the center of stage. Additionally，due to the increasing need of protecting common interests in Africa，China and Africa must push the security cooperation to the higher level in many fields，such as policy and law，mechanism building and international coordination.
