Demonstrating the analysis of grammatical term al-Hāl in Alfīyah ibn Mālik and two of its ancient commentaries，the paper tries to understand how al-Hāl is defined and described about its formal features and grammatical functions in the light of Classical Arabic Grammar，through which is the original and authentic visage of ancient description to Arabic.
