2016年，随着全球竞争加剧，中国台湾电子信息产业的发展压力更为巨大，电子产品产值为660.47亿美元，同比下降3.1%，电子产品市场额为239.66亿美元，同比降低0.86%，下降幅度均有所收窄。IC产业发展较快，尤其是芯片代工产业表现强劲，增速在20%以上。受中国大陆同行的挤压，以及年初台南大地震的影响，中国台湾面板产业下滑幅度较大。LED产业供过于求，厂商急于谋求转型和政策扶持，未来发展机遇与挑战并存。
In 2016，with the intensifying of global competition，the electronic information industry of Taiwan China was developing under a bigger pressure. The output of electronic products was 66.047 billion US dollars，down 0.87% year on year；the market of electronic products was 23.966 billion US dollars，down 3.2% year on year. The decline had somewhat slowed down. The IC industry developed well，particularly the chip OEM industry displayed a strong performance with a growth speed above 20%. Squeezed by peers of Chinese mainland and affected by the Tainan Earthquake earlier in the year，the panel industry had witnessed a big decline. The supply exceeded demand in LED industry. Manufacturers were anxious to seek transformation and policy support. In the future，opportunities and challenges will co-exist.
