本文运用语言学中的标记理论对英语中一些男性术语和女性术语进行研究，从形式、分类和语义三方面分析了性别歧视现象在英语语言中的体现，发现英语词汇存在强烈的性别歧视色彩，具体表现为男性术语通常为无标记项、语义积极，而女性术语为有标记项、语义消极。对英语词汇性别歧视现象的分析有利于英语学习者了解英语词汇的文化内涵，更准确地运用英语词汇。
Through a careful study of some English male and female terms，and the analysis of sexism in English language from the perspectives of form，distribution and semantics，this paper discovers that English words display a strong sexism，in which male terms are unmarked and positive，while female terms marked and negative，thus helps English learners to have a better understanding and proper use of English words.
