The increasing development of globalization has heralded greater than ever progress of the internationalisation of education. Since the 1980s，Australia has been at the forefront with its emphasis highlighting education export. This paper attempts to provide an overview of the progress of over 30 years of Australia’s internationalisation of high education，scrutinizing the policies at different levels of governments，in particular with relation to the recruitment and teaching of international students. It also analyses the problems and challenges brought by education internationalisation，and looks ahead to the prospect of its further development.
