我国著名历史学家彭树智先生主张从“大历史观”的角度探寻世界文明之间的交往互动和文明自觉，深化对历史学科整体性和联系性的规律性认知。彭树智认为人类交往互动有三个主题，即人与自然、人与社会和人与自我身心，它是人类文明交往自觉的集中表现，体现了人的主题意识和思想的自觉，三者之间是辩证统一的。彭树智指出，文明自觉在实质上是文明交往的自觉，是以人的思想文化自觉为核心、以文明交往自觉活动为主线的人类创造历史的理论和实践活动，是对文明交往活动的总结和升华，集中体现为交往互动规律的践行和把握。
Chinese famous historian Peng Shuzhi advocates seeking the interaction and the consciousness among the world civilizations from the perspective of the Great Conception of History. He suggests that there are three topics in the interaction of the human being，which include：the relationship between the mankind and the nature，the relationship between the mankind and the society and the relationship between the mankind and the individual self. These are the concentrated expressions of consciousness in the interactions among different civilizations. Peng Shuzhi points out that the civilization consciousness in itself is the consciousness of the civilization communication and the theoretical and practical activities created by the human being，which makes the consciousness of human’s ideology and culture as the core and the conscious activities of the civilization exchanges as the principal line. Civilization consciousness is the summary and the sublimation of the civilization exchange that embody the rule of interaction.
