The theory of civilization consciousness，advanced by Prof. Peng Shuzhi’s，is broad and profound. The guiding significance of this theory from the point of view of international relations can be expressed as follows：putting forward the specific principles and methods for self-orientation and mutual cognition of every country across the world；offering a right direction of foreign policies of every country during times of peace and development；providing a reasonable thinking for every country to deal with its beneficial differences and divergences；as well as pointing out the channels to solve the conflicts and wars for every country. This theory has laid the theoretical foundation for the study of Chinese international relations，and the Chinese scholars can，therefore，on the basis of this theory，construct an international relations theory system with local characteristics.
