中美间的摩擦与对抗逐渐成为南海问题的主线，南海问题已是中美关系中的首要焦点之一，中美在南海的龃龉也严重影响了两国总体关系的发展。中美很难在南海达成妥协，但是南海问题不是中美关系的全部，更不应该左右两国关系的总体互动进程。中美相互妥协是维系和平的唯一途径。
The friction and confrontation between China and the US have been more of a main line of the South China Sea issue. And this issue has been one of the primary focuses of China-U.S relations. Disagreements on that have severely affected the overall relationship of the two countries. Although It is difficult for the them to reach a comprise in South China Sea，this issue is not what the bilateral relationship is all about and should not be in the way of the overall bilateral interactions. The only way to maintain peace is to make a comprise between China and the US.
