Under the increased pressure of the current global economic slowdown，against the backdrop of the hindrance to the rounds of WTO multilateral trade negotiations，and with the boost of the SCO free trade area as a breakthrough point，doubtlessly，it is quite necessary and relatively realistic to make the choice that various SCO member states establish closer and deeper economic connections. For this reason，the author puts forward some suggestions on the boost of the SCO free trade area construction on the basis of the realistic foundation of the SCO free trade area construction and an in-depth analysis of its social and economic benefits，from such aspects as relevant basic principles，market functions，preliminary studies，social consensus，and government decisions.
