2014年美国经济复苏态势温和，从GDP增长、就业岗位增加、失业率下降等多个官方数据进行分析，宏观经济摆脱了“大衰退”。但是美国经济复苏并未改变资本与劳动力的相对议价能力，也未提高美国普通民众的实际收入水平。相反，贫富差距仍呈现扩大化趋势，中产阶级规模仍趋于萎缩，各种社会不公平等情况在恶化之中。对此，美国政府在社会政策方面应当进行相应调整，但这种调整在政治极化等因素的影响下面临重重困难。
According to the official data，the US economy won a modest but stable recovery with a growing GDP，increasing employment opportunities，and a decreasing unemployment rate in 2014. Although the macro economy has gradually stepped out of the “Great Recession”，the real revenue of ordinary Americans has not been increased. Neither the social disparity nor social inequality has been improved by the economic recovery. Meanwhile，the middle class is shrinking. Thus，the US government should adjust its social policies. Nonetheless，it is difficult to pass or carry out these social policies because of the current political polarization.
