After the implementation of the U.S. Rebalance to Asia-Pacific strategy，the U.S. has strengthened its alliance with the Republic of Korea. Based on their comprehensive military and security alliance，the U.S. aims to maintain its influence on the Korean Peninsula，contain North Korea on different levels，and consolidate its alliances with the Republic of Korea and Japan. Although the U.S.-ROK alliance has its differences，the two sides will continue to work closely against common threats，and expand their own interests in Northeast Asia.
