宁夏回族自治区简称宁，位于我国西北地区，处在黄河中上游地区及沙漠与黄土高原的交接地带，与内蒙古自治区、甘肃省、陕西省等省区为邻。全区面积6.6万平方公里。2014年总人口为662万人，地区生产总值为2752亿元，同比增长8%，人均GDP达41834元。本文通过分析2013～2014年宁夏回族自治区经济综合竞争力以及各要素竞争力的排名变化，从中找出宁夏回族自治区经济综合竞争力的推动点及影响因素，为进一步提升宁夏回族自治区经济综合竞争力提供决策参考。
