日本的“战略性外交”或“俯瞰地球仪外交”被认为概括了当前日本外交政策的总体运筹和动向。2014年安倍的“战略性外交”在政策思路和具体实施上有所发展，保持了延续性与实施力度，在议题方面有诸多新动向。客观上，安倍通过“战略性外交”增强对外政策主动性、战略性，取得了一定的成效，但其政策也暴露出缺乏平衡性与可持续性等问题。
The strategic diplomacy，or the “diplomacy overviewing the globe” is considered as the major. In 2014，Abe’s strategic diplomacy has gained some progress in terms of strategic concept and policy implementation，with the agendas of partnership building，public diplomacy，security cooperation and economic and energy diplomacy conducted mainly through the summit diplomacy. Abe’s strategic diplomacy is characterized with the growing value-orientation，the greater proportion of military cooperation，the emphasis on campaigns of propaganda and the more prominent China-related aspect. Abe attempts to gain more initiative in conducting foreign affairs through the strategic diplomacy，which，however，has shown the weakness of imbalance and unsustainablity.
