Climate change has become an important issue of common concern to the international community，while the resulting such as frequent extreme weather，rising sea level，species extinction，land desertification，the food crisis，refugees of islands and a series of problems are seriously endangered the survival and development of mankind. The South Pacific Island countries，as the biggest victims of the global problem，facing with national security and survival crisis caused by climate change，which worsens their long lasting problems of development and poverty reduction. As a result，helping South Pacific Island Countries to cope with climate change problems becomes the main concern of development assistance. This paper describes current situation of climate change faced with the South Pacific Island Countries and their policy actions and aid appeals. Then author summarizes the assistance from international community including China to this region to deal with climate change，and proposes suggestions on China’s assistance to the South Pacific Island Countries against climate change in the future.
