伯夷、叔齐千百年来作为节义精神的象征，不仅在中国，在朝鲜也有很大的影响。自高丽后期以来，忠臣义士多以伯夷、叔齐为榜样。到朝鲜朝后期，因提倡春秋大义而更加重视名分，伯夷、叔齐也更受推崇。朝鲜燕行使过清节祠必前往瞻拜，朝鲜海州也建起了清节祠，同时关于伯夷、叔齐的评价问题成为争论的焦点之一。夷齐论是朝鲜朝后期政治、思想变化的一种反映。
In the past thousand years，Bo Yi and Shu Qi as the symbol of high moral principles，had a great influence not only in China but also in Korea. Since the late Goryeo Dynasty Korean the loyal officials and the righteous man usually followed Bo Yi and Shu Qi. To the later Korea Dynasty，Korea praised Bo Yi and Shu Qi highly as the whole society paid more attention to the spirit of Chinese people. Yi Qi theory reflected the political and ideological changes in later Korea.
