广东是一个外经贸大省，其内部区域严重不平衡。珠三角地区九市外贸占据广东外贸总额的95%以上，利用外资集中了广东外商投资的80%以上，“走出去”利用外资和经济合作也绝大部分集中在深圳和广州，而且主要是华为和中兴对外投资。导致这种不平衡格局的原因很复杂，主要是由于珠三角地区地处中国香港国际经贸中心，其他地区相比之下远离香港，获得的辐射和影响较少；另外制度和政策因素也是外经贸区域失衡的原因。因此，有必要采取一些措施，改善区域交通和基础设施，培育区域经济中心及其腹地产业；调整产业结构；提高劳动力和人力资本的质量，进行制度创新等。以此减缓这种失衡，促进广东区域外经贸协调发展，实现广东区域经济可持续发展。
Guangdong is a big foreign trade province，with a serious imbalance in the interior region. Foreign trade of nine cities in the Pearl River Pelta accounted for more than 95% of the total foreign trade of Guangdong province，the utilization of foreign investment concentrated more than 80% of the total of Guangdong，the utilization of foreign investment and economic cooperation of “going out” strategy are also most concentrated in Shenzhen and Guangzhou，and mainly is foreign investment by Huawei and ZTE. The causes of this unbalanced regional development are complex，mainly due to the Pearl River Delta is located in the center of Hong Kong international trade and other areas received less radiation and impact because of far away from Hong Kong；besides institutional and policy factors are also the reason of regional imbalance in foreign trade and economic. Accordingly，it is necessary to take some measures to improve regional transportation and infrastructure，foster regional economic center and its hinterland industry，adjust the industrial structure，provide quality labor and human capital，conduct institutional innovation and so on. So as to mitigate this imbalance，promote the coordinated development of foreign trade in Guangdong area；achieve sustainable regional economic development in Guangdong.
