2010年的朝鲜半岛局势激荡起伏。在韩国李明博政府执行对朝强硬政策的背景下，朝韩关系以冷淡开局，从原先的极度冷淡走向了急剧动荡、剑拔弩张。双方围绕天安舰事件和延坪岛炮战展开了针锋相对的斗争，紧张的局势导致双方民间往来和贸易都大大减少。进入2011年，朝韩爆发全面战争的可能性微乎其微，半岛局势的缓和与南北合作的可能性依然存在，但取决于韩国让步的幅度和南北双方的对话状况以及周边大国的表现。
The year 2010 witnessed twists and turns on the Korean Peninsula. With strong DPRK policies，the relationship between the two countries started with frost and ended up with tremendous upheavals and tension. Intense confrontation rolled out on the Cheonan Incident and the“Northern Limit Line.”Possibilities of mitigation and cooperation still exist，which，however，can hardly rule out the possibilities that DPRK，with limited tolerance，would conduct drastic reactions if or when things turned out to be unsatisfying and hindering its development strategy，thus bringing new tension to the Peninsula.
