2012年12月19日，韩国将迎来第18届总统选举。继五年前第17届总统选举大国家党党内失利后，朴槿惠重振旗鼓，出任大国家党紧急对策委员会委员长。韩国是否将出现首任女总统再次成为热门话题。韩国的传统思想将女性的活动范围定位在家庭，虽然近年来女性运动有了长足发展，女性经济活动参与率已超过了50%，但女性政治人在政坛所占比例还是落后于世界平均水平，女性议员比例在世界排在第50位以后，至今还未出现女性国家最高领导人。韩明淑作为首任女性总理，似乎打开了韩国女性通向政治权力最核心的大门，康锦实、秋美爱先后高调参选首尔市长让人眼前一亮，朴槿惠如能问鼎总统，势必打开韩国女性政治参与的崭新一页。

If Park Geun-hye would win the 18th presidential elections, it will be a prominent part of the Korean women's participation in politics.
