In 2013，Prince Philippe became the 7^th King of the Belgians after the abdication of his father. The fiscal austerity targets of the coalition government suffered from resistance and risks still existed as to its stability. Belgian economic outlook for 2013 remained weak with sluggish growth，while the number of corporations declared bankruptcy broke new record. At the same time，various measures were taken by the government to alleviate the rising public debts. Unemployment had been aggravated，for which the high labor cost is one of the most important reasons. China and Belgium maintained frequent and extensive exchanges and cooperation.
