The French right-wing party suffered a heavy defeat in the local elections，which will produce negative effects on Sarkozy’s drive for a re-election for the 2012 presidential election. France is gradually tiding over the financial crisis，whose economy is recovering gradually. However，the breakout of Greek debt crisis forced France to abandon its stimulus package and turned its focus on deficit reduction. Unfortunately，some of the reforming measures have encountered with protests from the public and the government’s deportations of the Roma received wide criticism both at home and from abroad. As to its foreign policy，France is enhancing its attention to Africa at the same time when it repairs its relations with the US and with China.
