本文从主要的国际学术期刊中撷取了若干代表性的作品，扫描了近一年来国际关系领域的主要议题和研究进展，涉及国际关系理论，特别是均势理论的反思，中国崛起道路的争论，全球治理的新分析，实验方法给国际关系学科在方法上的影响和以前被忽视的宗教和习惯等议题的开拓。在阐述这些议题的过程中，本文呈现了国际关系学科的前沿轮廓，鸟瞰了国际关系研究的基本趋势。
To focus on progress in international relations (IR) from 2010 to 2011, this review article presents some new directions in IR research by selecting relevant essays published in the leading IR journals. Progress has been made in the following areas: international relations theory, especially the balance of power, analysis of the rise of China, global governance, and experimental methods on the subject of international relations and the impact of the methods on previously neglected topics such as religion and customs. In explaining these issues, this article presents an outline of the cutting-edge research in the discipline and provides an overview of the basic trends in international relations.
