The Gravity center of India's regional cooperation strategy, in recent years especially, shows a clear eastward shift, with "Look East" policy playing a largerrole. This shift, partly caused by inherent requirement of foreign economic cooperation or trade and partly correlated with China's rapid rise, has increased the weight of its political and security interests compared to its economic interests, and also reflects India's high consistency with its partners in theitaim to "balance China" Even so, the eastward shift of India's regional cooperation strategy remains subject to comprehensive national strength, domestic political situation, security environment in South Asia and multiple other factors. As a consequence, it may be too early to define its future.
