印度的亚太战略正处于定型过程中,它本质上是“东向”政策的延伸。印度亚太战略的形成具有深刻的经济、安全与战略驱动。在地区经济一体化进程中,印度的亚太战略具有“先易后难、迂回前进”的特点;在安全上,海洋的重要性因能源和地缘政治因素而上升;在战略上,美国在印度亚太战略中的权重最大,中国是印度要追赶和平衡的目标,日本是印度近中期联合的对象。印度被美国及其亚洲盟友赋予地缘政治平衡手的特性。在长期上,印美关系将趋向“友好”,“中美印”三边协作则是印度欲在亚太实现的重要战略目标之一。
India's Asia-Pacific strategy is in the process of formulation and it's essentially an extension of the "Look East" policy. Behind it are profound economic, security and strategic driving forces. In the aspect of regional economic integration, India's Asia-Pacific strategy was featured by "easy first, zigzag forward"; on security, the importance of oceans has been highlighted due to energy and geopolitical consideratios; on strategy, the United States I's of top importauce and China was targeted for catching-up and balancing, while Japan is the partner for collaboration in immediate and mid-term. India's nature as a swing state geopolitically has been recognized by the United States and its Asian allies. In the long run, India-U.S relations will tend to be"friendly", and U.S-China-India trilateral collaboration is one of the strategic objectives of India to achieve in Asia Pacific.
