In 2013，while the basic state of overall stability and partial unrest was maintained，some new issues also emerged calling for attention. With relatively stable political situation，the Central Asian countries accelerated reforms in various fields. The economy was generally growing smooth，but the economic base remained weak，and the gap in social and economic development was further widened. Central Asian countries continued to carry out pluralistic and pragmatic diplomacy with their respective characteristics，and demonstrated a favorable momentum in foreign cooperation. The internal and external security environment of Central Asian countries were still tense，with numerous factors of instability and uncertainty.
