葡萄牙深陷国际金融危机和欧债危机中，经济发展持续低迷，而非洲经济呈现良好稳定增势，故葡萄牙加强与非洲葡语国家的经贸合作，充分利用葡萄牙语国家共同体和中国—葡语国家经贸合作论坛（澳门）互动平台和语言文化纽带，使双边贸易额上升，双向投资和援助活跃，且葡萄牙向安哥拉、莫桑比克等国移民流动人数骤增，重新塑造着与非洲葡语国家的新型国家关系。
Since the break-out of the international financial crisis and European debt crisis，Portugal has been stuck in and its economy has been declining as well. By contrast，African economy has been growing steadily. Portugal enhanced economic and trade cooperation with Portuguese-Speaking African Countries by making use of the interaction platforms of Community of Portuguese Language Countries （CPLP） and Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries （Macao），and of the cultural ties as well. As a result，the bilateral trade volume has been on the rise，and dual direct investment and aid cooperation have been productive. Moreover，the Portuguese migrated to Angola and Mozambique has been increasing rapidly. At present，Portugal is trying to reshape a new type of national relationship with Portuguese-Speaking African Countries.
