Southeast Asia hosts one of the world’s most biodiverse tropical rainforest belts and serves as a core ecological barrier for regional and global climate stability and biodiversity. It is also a major export base for forest products such as palm oil，rubber，and wooden furniture，with forestry and related industries central to many economies. However，driven by population growth and land-use expansion，the region’s average annual net forest loss remains above the global average. Balancing forest protection and economic development has become a shared priority for Southeast Asian countries. From a green-finance perspective，this report reviews the state of forestry，trade challenges，and supply-chain networks in Southeast Asia；assesses how international and regional financial tools support carbon sequestration，emissions reduction，and value-chain upgrading；and summarizes cases involving Chinese enterprises and China’s good practices in using green finance to support sustainable forestry，to provide practical references and decision support for sustainable forest management and regional green cooperation.
