In the digital age，the digital economy empowers the narrowing of the urban-rural income gap through various means such as promoting rural industrial development，employment and entrepreneurship. At the same time，by promoting the value transformation of smart agriculture technology，digital technology can effectively break down the spatial barriers and uneven distribution of resources between urban and rural areas，and help achieve equalization of public services between urban and rural areas. It has played an important role in narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas. In addition，the digital economy，as a new driving force for promoting economic and social development，plays a key role in accelerating the upgrading and coordinated development of urban and rural infrastructure. As an important platform for international economic and trade exchanges，the China International Import Expo（CIIE）provides new opportunities for narrowing the urban-rural gap through various approaches，including promoting the value transformation of smart agricultural technology，facilitating digital resource sharing，and upgrading public service levels. This paper deeply analyzes the current characteristics and mechanism pathways of urban and rural development in the context of the digital age，explores the action mechanisms and practical cases of the CIIE in narrowing the gap，and proposes strategies to further strengthen its role，aiming to provide theoretical support and practical references for promoting balanced urban-rural development.
