The global new crown epidemic that broke out in 2020 had a greater impact on Mongolia’s impact on the export-oriented economy. On February 24,2022,due to the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the all-round sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States and the West affected Mongolia’s economic development. A new political situation has emerged in Mongolia. According to the current constitution, the ninth parliamentary election will be held in 2024 and the second six-year presidential election after the constitutional amendment will be held in 2027. In the meantime, the Mongolian People’s Party(MPP)will be in power for three years with “one party occupying three high positions”. How to fight against the new epidemic and how to implement efficient governance under the normalization of the epidemic will be a test for the Mongolian People’s Party’s ability to remain in power,as well as for the future political career of President Khurilsukh.
