In 2023，Vietnam’s agriculture continued to grow rapidly，and the thriving development of the agriculture，forestry，and fishery sectors played an important role in promoting the overall economy，especially with record-high exports of agricultural products. The competitiveness of products such as rice，fruits and vegetables，and cashews in the international market has been significantly improved. Driven by the government，Vietnam’s agricultural modernization process has accelerated，with the promotion of high-tech applications and the strengthening of policy support to enhance the value of agricultural products and drive the integration of the value chain，which laying a solid foundation for sustainable agricultural development. However，Vietnam’s agriculture also faced many challenges. The negative impact of extreme weather events caused by climate change on agricultural production still existed，and the shortage of skilled labor became increasingly prominent；Vietnam’s agriculture was also facing increasing external competitive pressure. For example，although international free trade agreements have opened up new markets for Vietnamese agricultural products，but also brought fierce competition from other major agricultural countries. Looking ahead to 2024，Vietnam’s agriculture will continue to move towards modernization and sustainable development with the support of government policies. Through technological innovation，infrastructure construction and labor training，Vietnam’s agriculture is expected to further enhance its international competitiveness and make new breakthroughs in responding to challenges such as climate change，thereby consolidating its position in the global agricultural product market.
